On Saturday, January 3rd we (Joe, Elisabeth and I) went to see Marley and me. It was a great movie that I recommend, however we had different reactions. Joe and Elisabeth walked to the car and said, "let's get a dog!", while I said, "that convinces me that I don't want a dog!" Well, I'm learning that when my heart is hard about an issue, then the Lord will want to deal with that area. I began to pray that if I needed to change my opinion that the Lord would show me very clearly.
On Tuesday evening Joe came home from work to tell us about how a man had stopped by with a box full of 6 puppies that he wanted to give away!!
"Okay, Lord... I'm getting the message. Here's a new area to trust You. I've never owned a dog, but I look to You for help."
Joe and Elisabeth were surprised that I was open to the idea. In the night I woke up and really felt that we should take 2 puppies. Aileen will get an apartment off campus in August for next year, so she can have a pet.
So here we are- 1 week later enjoying 2 female puppies who have been named Aida and Bailey!! One parent is a black Lab and the other is an English setter.
I think we've really re-entered American life!
